I think there are enough Fairport aspects to this clip to put it in this section!

Back in '83 and back in Australia, Trrevor Lucas procuced Redgum's biggest hit "I Was Only 19", about the plight of Australian Vietnam veterans.  Probably that same year, the local 60 Minutes did a feature on the band and the song.  That feature is now up at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wNeaNkCzFLY

Not just the fact that TL produced the song and did it with FC at Cropredy '85, but also, Redgum perform an excerpt of Poor Ned (AKA Ballad Of Ned Kelly) which has practically become a standard, in fact Redgum first listed it as "trad" until informed otherwise...

Plus - around 1.50, Trevor makes a cameo in the background of the backstage segment!

It's quite an interesting feature altogether, around 13 minutes.

Fab. I recall Redgum were booked to play Cropredy one year ('82, I thought, but maybe I'm mistaken) but for some unknown (to me) reason it didn't come about. Most disappointing. Certainly, I remember the spine tingling Fairport version of IWON at Cropredy. A golden moment. I had a really nice video of a new year TV show, from a Fairport trader in Oz, but sadly it went AWOL a long while back.

Iain Matthews performs "Seven Bridges Road" with the Eagles cover band, the Dutch Eagles.

He discussed this at his recent concert in Austin.  He said the Dutch Eagles had been unfamiliar with Iain's early '70s, pre-Eagles arrangements of SBR and "Ol' 55," and that it has been a pleasure to perform these songs with them on occasion.  He also marvelled that someone could earn "6,000 Euros a night pretending to be someone else."

This is slightly left field but hope you enjoy.  Michael Steele, (female) former bassist of the Bangles and huge Fairport fan, tackling 'The Banks of the Nile' as a part of the Sandy tribute in the late 90's in NYC.  Voice may not be to Sandy's level but the feeling is most definitely there.

The first one has gone up - Festival Bell.

I didn't think I'd ever hear myself say this but I want this year's Saturday night performance at Cropredy to be exactly the same as the Winter Tour.

With a few more oldies added that would be a perfect set.

Our daughter Megan took this and the camera jumps up and down because I was dancing in my seat Grin. I'm surprised you can't hear her shouting "Mother Stop it!" Embarrassed. She also ran out of space on her camera.
