Something that has occurred to me recently as there is so little concert footage of Sandy with Fairport is what did she do during jigs and feels type instrumentals, did she play rhythm guitar a piano line of just take the opportunity for a rest?

DW

She was definitely known to have played tambourine when the guys performed the Brilliancy Medley in 1974/1975.

I see Thompy has cancelled his July date in Ipswich. 2022 it is for last year's solo gig, then.

Commemorating Dave Swarbrick's 80th birthday, here's a Scattering The Roots Swarb Special I put together a few years ago.

Celebrating his life and music, this show features highlights of Swarb's time with Fairport Convention and also some prime cuts from his lengthy and prolific career including recordings with Martin Carthy, Red Shoes, Swarb's Lazarus and Whippersnapper...

Latest email from the chaps: live 17-track CD from 2020 (& 2019) gigs available to pre-order from the FC website shop from Monday 19th April; orders to be sent out the following week.  Only 2000 being produced; hopefully I'll be able to get online early from the self-catering accommodation (I'm away over the weekend)...

It’s kind of tangential, but someone’s posted some lovely pictures on an East Anglian music archive FB group of their band playing at Bruce Lacey’s 80th birthday party.  Smiley

More because I want to help the band's finances out than I'm really interested in the CD I've ordered a copy.  Hope it does well for them.

Well, it does at least include another version of Sloth! Actually a very good version from what I remember of the gig, albeit not the longest.

Have now managed to order too. Bit sneaky hiding it amongst the T shirts in the shop rather than with the CDs.
