A question for those who know their specialist vinyl market better than I - is £200 for a top notch copy of Full House first pressing (with Poor Will on the sleeve) a reasonable price?

The Rare Record Price Guide is the bible on such things. I dont know if its available online these days or not. Or you could check discogs for how much this edition is selling for  unless of course that's where you're looking already. First press Island albums do tend to be expensive,  that's all I know.

I'm struggling to find the variant on Discogs, hence the question.  As far as I can tell there's only one sale on one I think it is (at £80...but it's fairly meaningless without knowing the condition).  

Hmmm.  I've never been a fan of bibles.  The RRPG is (I think) a work of fiction.  I like Record Collector but their valuing approach is meaningless...it bears no relationship to the market, which surely is all that actually matters.  I've seen albums that regularly sell at £20 listed as £80 ones, and regular £1000+ sellers put down as £100 ones.  I'm not a fan.

I recently bought a very nice looking copy of an ISB album on Island. I mean shiny, scratch free, with a sleeve bearing very little damage considering its age. Im not totally fed up with the results, but let's just say it doesn't sound as good as it looks.  It cost 14 pounds, and I don't know what pressing it is.

Thats a habit I've developed posting on the  Hoffman forum, jules. Some people there go further and include matrix numbers and so on, often a photo of the album too.

Oh 🤭sorry. Be Glad for the Song  has no Ending. One of a very few ISB albums ive never had on vinyl. I've seen a few used copies over the years, always in what I'd call bad condition.

Intriguing.  I think that Discogs only lists one Island UK release although there is a 1971 Netherlands one and a 1974 German one.  Next UK release is given as the 90's Edsel one....

I agree. I visit and participate regularly but you get the impression that many of the members are so obsessed with the minutiaie of audiophile sound quality that they are not actually listening to the music. They are listening to the equipment. No such danger for me with damaged hearing and limited funds.  Grin

I would say yes. My Price Guide has a mint copy listed as £225, but it's the 2008 edition.
2nd and 3rd pressings on Eil. are priced between £15 and £75 according to the condition.
I have a second pressing, which I think I paid £45 for in approx 2004.

I bought a copy of Full House vinyl with Poor Will listed on the label  in 2017 on Ebay for £20 , and then added the sleeve , in fairly rough condition for £18
I was very actively looking for a replacement Full House , but just got lucky , the seller didn't know what they had and was happy receiving
 £20
The sleeve seller advertised it exactly as it is and confirmed that it was well worn , but very rare , this year , I still feel lucky to have picked them up for little money .

I have seen valuations  4 or 5 years ago of £80 to £100 , so I would say £150 + more if it's in better condition in 2020

The best performance (if not best then definitely hovering in the top 3) of WKWTTG is Chris & Kellie While's from Cropredy 2008. They just "get" it completely...
