He was so much more than a singer - one of the great musical adventurers.  I'm a huge fan, and so very sad that he's gone.

I only saw Johnny Dickinson a couple of times, but I wish it had been more, he was so good.

And Scott Walker, what a voice. My Ship Is Coming In would make my Top 20 favourite ever songs.

RIP

Ranking Roger and so many two tone ska bands were where it all started for me, such sad news they will always be the beat to me and a starting point of the soundtrack of my life

This is getting too much...my music faves are steadily disappearing RIP Ranking Roger...I clearly remember going to see see The Beat when I was at university and raving about them to my flatmates who had no idea what I was going on about,

Saw The Beat at weyfest a few years ago. Roger was leaping around the stage like a lunatic. Seemed to have more energy than his son. Very enjoyable band.

Not heard them, but sad nonetheless.

Both members of the Liverpool band Her's and their tour manager have been killed in a crash in the US

Duo Stephen Fitzpatrick, 24, and Audun Laading, 25, as well as manager Trevor Engelbrektson, died while travelling to a gig in California on Wednesday, their record label Heist or Hit said.
