Up next - September 13, The Swell Season at ACL Live!
I don't think they can top the show we saw last July in Rochester, NY, but I'm sure they can equal it.

Oct 30th in Cheltenham... Gong at the Deya brewery taproom - hopefully loud enough to drown out any braying trendies only there to be seen (and, unfortunately, heard)!

Cardiff bluegrass band, Taff Rapids, tomorrow in Swansea. If the show is anywhere near as good as their recent album, it'll be a blast.

I was looking at Aussie Pink Floyd at Swansea arena in November.
Then I looked at the ticket prices.
Now I'm looking at the David Gilmour performance film at Cardiff IMAX.

I was also looking at Aussie Pink Floyd in Manchester. No way can I justify those prices (even for the "cheapest" seats). I'll do a couple of more reasonable gigs and still have change.

Just looked...just shy of £70 inc fees for the cheapies! That is utterly preposterous.

Admittedly a less grand production, but I paid considerably less to see Nick Mason's Saucerful of Secrets there not so long ago... Edit- All the cheaper tickets appear to have sold, with just the VIP experience tickets remaining. To quote- "Includes premium ticket, pre-show soundcheck, pre-recorded behind the scenes short film montage, Q&A, limited-edition reusable tote bag which includes: a souvenir laminate and collectable 2025 tour poster".

I paid just shy of £30 for the This Is Floyd concert at our community centre last weekend. Again they have back projection and a lazer light show which all costs money, I'm sure. No inflatable kangaroo though!
The David Gilmour concert film at our local cinema was much cheaper (£12), though not IMAX.

These Australian Pink Floyd prices being quoted are ridiculous, we are talking about a tribute band, after all. And a VIP experience with Q&A ? Blimey.
The last tribute band I paid for was The Queen Extravaganza (Roger Taylor's officially endorsed tribute band) back in January - £27 including unwelcome booking fees. Roughly £4 processing fees for me to download and show a bar code on my phone ?!
I wouldn't normally feel the need to go and see a Queen tribute, but as one of my oldest friends is in the band, I like to go and support him when he's in town, so I've seen them a few times.
The first time I saw them, I ventured to the bar after the show to say hi to my friend, and encountered the "VIP Experience" - bit of a misnomer for a tribute band, after all, it's not as if you can exactly ask them what the inspiration was for their material, is it ?
The so-called VIP Experience that people had paid extra for consisted of a few nervous punters wondering what the hell they were getting for their money, while asking then-singer Marc Martel how and when he discovered he had a Freddie Mercury-like timbre to his voice, and that was about it.
My rambling point is - what do you ask The Australian Pink Floyd in a Q&A ? How do you choose your setlist ? Is your guitar rig as close to Mr Gilmour's as possible ? Have you met the Floyd in real life ? Is this value for money ?

These Q&A type events pretty much always come across as the most awkward of things...Amazes me why people choose to put themselves through it...
