Cait O'Riordan looks better 30+ years on than she did in the mid 80's!
Shane looks like they dug him up and put a bit of make up on him, badly.

The two statements may not be entirely unrelated.  Cait gave up drinking in 2007.  Shane, er, didn't.

Having seen The Transports recently at Union Chapel I thought I would put this youtube link up. Apologies if this has been added before, I did a search on Shrewsbury Fest. 2017 and Youtube clips of interest threads but couldn't see it.

This can be downloaded using youtube-dl. I found that the sound level was very low in the first half, but that can be rectified using ffmpeg with no loss of quality1

Marvin Gaye's Heard It Through The Grapevine sans music - just voice.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mBZze-PA7EA

The Temptations Just My Imagination in a similar fashion.

Proper singing like what you don't get anymore unless you're very very lucky.  Sad

A sound-only performance of Cass Eliott singing with the Lovin' Spoonful (Mugwumps?)

Sorry there are no visuals but I heard this online the other day and thought it was spellbinding.

Dear God I hope the rest of album is better than this or I'll be well p***ed off. What is with that utterly monotonous drum sound?    Undecided

Just recognised the track.  Maybe he's played it live already and I've got it on a recording somewhere?  Or maybe I'm just wrong!  Probably the latter.

Odd, yes, but it made me go to the original, which I haven't heard in years.  I'd quite forgotten what a beautiful song it is.

What I love about this, is that it sounds like a lovely normal guy who’s turned up at an open mic and decided to sing something that’s very slightly out of his range. We’ve all done it. We don’t all, on the other hand, have the nous to bring along a gospel choir to help out on the choruses. Dave (David) Gilmour - Dimming of the Day. https://youtu.be/EK2N3S0lr4c

That was a nice surprise on that DVD, as was his version of Hushabye Mountain from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, which was a favourite of mine from my childhood. I'd love to see him and Rog do Chu Chi Face sometime.
