Not sure if this is the right/best place for this?

On BBC4 tonight is a prog by Rick Wakeman about Rock bands on tour. It states it includes stuff from FC.

Think it’s a repeat but thanks anyway

The artwork on this one I don't mind. I still shutter at A Sense Of Occasion however...

And interesting song titles indeed. Seems like a few more lead vocals from Simon than some more recent efforts

Relatively new to the board so I need to put my hands up as say that I've really enjoyed the music made by the current line-up over the last couple of decades so I'm definitely up for the new album.

Haven't listened to the clips. Happy to wait for record's release. Agree that the cover's not fab. They've not had a good one since The Wood & The Wire, I reckon.  Smiley

If you fancy hanging out with RT,his boys and his grandson then here's one way to do it:

https://www.fretsandrefrains.com

Try not to laugh at the utterly hilarious prices though ($1500 for 4 nights in a ****ing tent?!!).  Our music (and our musicians) have disappeared up their own posteriors.  The fact it will sell out (and the most expensive options have, of course, already gone) doesn't make it right.....

Bit harsh I think. Frets and Refrains has been on for a few years now, and has been growing. With growth comes more cost. Could I afford it right now? Probably not. Would I consider it in future? Yes. Just like I would consider a cruise with favorite musicians, which are popular of course. The Catskills are a beautiful place, and staying there just for a few days other than a cheapass motel at the same time of year would not be much of a price difference. Believe me I have looked. Its not like RT has ever purposely gouged people before that I am aware of compared to a pop star. And he clearly enjoys putting this on. Its not a go through the motions scheme by management

Can anyone explain what a "pre order" is - surely you have "ordered",

Guess it means that you have ordered but it’s pre- going on sale so you can’t actually have it yet  Tongue. Although thinking about it, that doesn’t make much sense either!  Shocked

Isn't the correct term an advance order?

It's a clever ruse invented by 21st century capitalism to make consumers pay for things long before they are produced.

Oh, dear oh dear....

I have a lot of the ‘free’ Un Herd cd’s that come with RnR magazine.
I have been re listening to some of these over Christmas.
Un-Herd 64 starts with Fairports doing , ‘Summer by the Cherwell’
Followed immediately by RT doing Gethsemene.
Sums up for me the different roads that these two ‘acts’ have followed .......and a gulf between them.(imho).
Different strokes for different folks.

Wasn't Cliff doing it in the 20th century?
