Partially. The execution was somewhat bland, but I do think it was John's best set of songs post
Imagine (which in your case I know says very little).

I'm not sure I entirely agree with this as I have a real soft spot for
Walls & Bridges (not a popular view I know and possibly related to the age I was when I first heard it and the fact that
Whatever Gets You Thru The Night was the first single I ever bought).
More to the point with DF though was that, if you had an open mind (which I did at the age of 16), some of Yoko's material was terrific. I remember flipping the single of Starting Over after having been a bit disappointed by the A side and my jaw completely dropping at the sound of
Kiss Kiss Kiss. As an, at the time, lover of X Ray Spex and Lene Lovich, this was right in my wheelhouse.
Every Man Has a Woman Who Loves Him may also be the best song on the album and may have been a huge hit had it been by someone more fashionable.
