And, no, she hasn't 'been there all the way'...do some basic research Wink Wink

I may need to read it now to stop thinking this means something other than what it probably does.

Well, this is unexpected (by me, at least).  On Facebook:

I mentioned last week that Peter was rehearsing for something special but couldn't reveal who with.

I can now though, and am sure many of you will be pleased to hear that his duo partner will be none other than Maddy Prior, his former Steeleye bandmate, of course!

They have been invited to perform at Cecil Sharp House, as part of The Magpie Arc's Day of Folk on the 7th of February. Tickets now on sale.

Link in comments, where you can discover the full, fabulous lineup.

Definitely interested in attending this. Other artists on the bill are Chris Wood, Ellie Gowers, and Lisa Knapp and Gerry Diver. Tickets are £45.

Got my ticket!

They performed together briefly at the same 'festival' in 2022, doing 3 songs. That must have gone well if they have now expanded it to doing a whole set.

All I know is that they took part in an interview and were joined by John Spiers as well (for at least one song). They played 'When I was on Horseback, 'Betsy Bell and Mary Gray', Boys of Bedlam. Peter sang 'We Shall Wear Midnight'. They then did a Q&A  on stage with Mathew Bannister which you can hear (no video) on his FolkonFoot website. It was only advertised as them doing the Q&A so I think doing the 3 songs was possibly a late decision.

New tour starts tonight. I will be going along to Bristol and Frome. Good to see Steeleye/Mady have appeared in a few publications recently, including RnR, Beat Magazine, Record Collector and Sunday Express (a few weeks ago). Park Records actually doing some good PR!
Tickets seem to be selling well.

Long may Maddy/Steeleye continue!

Sounds good. What sort of thing have they been playing on the concerts they have done together so far? (Might give a clue as to what may be on the album.)
