A nice cover of MOTL by Greta Van Fleet -who, incidentally are the best new band I've heard in a long time - they do sound a bit like Led Zeppelin, which is no bad thing.

Opinions, opinions...I'm afraid I find it almost unlistenable.  Truly hideous.  Sorry....  Sad

Like you say - it's just opinions. Even if you don't like it, give the band a chance. It's not really typical of their own stuff.

Having read the comments I was dreading listening to it, but, I must be honest, I like it.

Me too. At least they've not just tried to copy the original, they've done their own take on it. It's OK.

Hmm well, I'll bet Richard's highly flattered, sounds better with every listen, GVF are hardly a wanker band, Nantucket Sleighride LP comes to mind, the publishing royalties won't hurt his bank account too.

In late 2015 for my 30th anniversary on air, Maart gifted me an exclusive recording for the occasion, a version of the old Playford tune Nonesuch.  Not on any of his albums and up to now only on the show blog, but I thought it warranted a wider audience, hence this video.

Pics by Ian Burgess, Gordon Mignot and myself.

I suspect these videos, both from 1989, may be of some interest.  Smiley

I was lucky enough to see the latter (in Portsmouth).  Most enjoyable.  Thanks for posting.

RT's Electric Trio set from the Shrewsbury Folk Festival (August 2018) is now on Youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J8sWPjYe1tw Excellent quality sound and visuals.  Set list representative of his current tour, I think.
