Birmingham:

Meet On The Ledge with Swarb being his usual indomitable self.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HqV2p-KlUUw

Twickenham:

Honour and Praise
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0faM5Tr78aU
I love this song but never heard it live ... hope they include it in the Acoustic Tour.

Wild Cape Horn
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kN7eo7D2ykE
A little bit slower perhaps - alters the mood slightly and works well for me. I think they should retain the line "ploughed a way around the Wild Cape Horn” though - an ending that links back to the beginning is always very satisfying.

Thanks KM!
Really great. "Honour and Praise" is an old favourite, glad to see it revived...
"Meet...." Great to see Swarb. The song seems to become more and more important - and moving - as the years go by...

Friend sent me this lot:

Trawling through You Tube, RT 1981 "You're Gonna Need Somebody" from Sunnyvista. - I remember this when it was on. tasty solo from RT.  I'd forgotten Linda played occasional rhythm gtr.

Shoot out the lights: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YH_8VINpfKQ&NR=1

Night Comes In: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T4DbRJMBH9s&feature=related

And - a lost gem, this!! - from the same programme, I'm a Dreamer:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T4DbRJMBH9s&feature=related

Oh, such memories. These clips come from a disturbing period in RTs career when he bore a passing resemblance to Chris Martin from Coldplay.  It is nice to be nice so I shall offer no further comment.

I thought some of you might be interested in these ...

First half of a Fairport gig at Syracuse, New York, 2003.  The sound is good, the picture not quite so.

The second half of the same gig.  Sound and pictures good.

Recently mentioned on the Sandy Denny list:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gvdr_kilrw4

Colour footage of Fairport & Sandy from 1975, with an all too brief excerpt of White Dress.  Cheesy

Probably from the Van Speyk Show.

What will happen with the rest of that video, and the couple of other songs from the show...?

He does indeed - he rose to the challenge of filling RT's shoes handsomely.  Shame he's never pushed his guitar playing chops like that since.  The sheer energy alone is inspiring.
