The woman has pulled out of the tour, refunds being given etc but Peter will be able to have the stage for the evening to gig their new album. Hopefully he can salvage some financial benefit from something beyond his control.

Seats are available at Shrewsbury tomorrow (need to check this).

From https://www.folkscape.live/

We are delighted to present Nettlebed Folk Club’s 50th Birthday Extravaganza, showcasing the premier folk line-up of 2025, streamed live on July 14. Join us for an informal, vibrant, engaging and fun celebration. With the venue sold out, reserve your front-row live stream seat today!

Artists scheduled to appear are, in no particular order

Cara Dillon & Sam Lakeman, Feast of Fiddles, Chris While, Julie Matthews & Kellie While, Steve Knightley, Phil Beer, Miranda Sykes, Maddy Prior, Mike McGoldrick & John McCusker, Benji Kirkpatrick, Paul Downes and Jackie Oates, Megan Henwood & Charlie Dore.

The first email listed Show of Hands but that was changed so presumably Steve and Phil will be performing separately. Or Phil might be playing with Miranda. But you never know, we might get Country Life from all three of them.  Grin

I'd not long moved house and was living in temporary rented accommodation in Oxford, with my wife and two young kids (5 and 1 year old) My first memory was The Who going silent, but for the life of me, I can't remember which song they were playing. Also, Adam Ant singing his latest single 'Viva La Rock' - I also can't recall if that song ever charted. It went down like a lead balloon at Wembley. I've never been a huge fan of Queen, but I think they were so well received because they stuck to the brief...'Play the hits and get people interested'. David Bowie introducing the CBC documentary, with the Cars' soundtrack was a memory that still haunts.

Intriguing.  Somebody's lying - they can't all be telling the truth, can they?  Interestingly, no talk of legal action now?

"Unfair and misleading" is not the same as 'not true'. There seems to be quite a lot of missing paperwork and unfortunate mistakes having been made.  Roll Eyes

Aye, that's my thoughts too.  Damage limitation!

It is worth mentioning for anyone planning to arrive by boat that the canal from Claydon to Banbury will be closed indefinitely from 21/7 due to lack of water , it is very low at the moment between slat mill and little bourbon lock but just about passable down the centre channel.
Personally I’d be amazed if it is still open before the 21st judging by the water levels at the moment.
Thought I’d mention it in case people need to amend their plans.

Oh dear, but it doesn’t surprise me.  For many years we did the Thames Ring on various hired boats, from Lechlade to the top of the Thames, back down to Oxford,  and up the Oxford canal to moor up at Cropredy for the festival.

Haven’t done this for years now, but very sad for those that are going by boat 🥲
