Apparently rumours of  the death of John Weider of Family in  2023 have been greatly exaggerated, due to a Wikipedia error.

My sort of musician. Perfect riffs and considered solos which were perfect for the songs without trying to be be flashy or dazzling in technical frippery. Just a guy who brought so much pleasue to so many people with his talent.

So sad to hear about Mick Ralphs. I was glad he was aware of the Hall of Fame induction (much like Ray Thomas of the Moodies and Joe Strummer, both of whom passed between the announcement and the ceremony).

The gray cells tell me I saw Mick with Bad Company twice, and so did Mrs. J From A, albeit on different dates:

1 September 1974 at Memorial Stadium, Austin, Texas (Mrs. J From A)
1 July 2009 at the DTE Energy Music Theater, Clarkston, Michigan (J From A)
28 June 2013 at the Venue at the Horseshoe Casino, Hammond, Indiana (picture below)

I have great love for Bad Company and particularly Mick's playing. R.I.P.

Oh no, i so loved Mott the Hoople, still do.

I saw them on their farewell tour must be 10 years ago. All still living then although  Buffin was unable to play.

They were also my first  rock concert,  1971.

Sad news about Mick Ralph’s, I saw him in 2013 on the last MTH original reunion but he obviously wasn’t a particularly well man then.
Since that tour we’ve lost Buffin, Overend and now Ralpher out of the original line up😔

Sad to read about the passing of Ian. I was really pleased I got to see him perform in the Bully Wee Band in 1982 I think it was...not long after Maart joined and subsequently Feast of Fiddles. Travel well Ian. XX

This is very sad news. I saw many memorable Hot Rats shows at Rochester Sweeps Festival, along with FoF and of course The Wicker Man. I presume this was sudden. Again, very sad.

19 years on from his death, the official Syd Barrett page has just posted this lovely little image of young Roger with his sisters Rosemary and Ruth
