3 episodes in and I'm very much enjoying SAS Rogue Heroes.
I understand there's quite a lot of Bon Scott-era AC/DC? I've also been told that it's the best thing about it! There's loads of AC/DC and other rock music. You know it's made by the Peaker Blinders guy for sure, so it's very stylised, but it's great fun whilst not being world beating drama. |

I adore all the Robin ECM albums. If this (as looks likely?) is his final release it's a hell of a way to go out... Incidentally if anyone wants a Robin Williamson discography I put together from Discogs (it's on Excel) message me with your email address. |

"With a Heartbeat" - Pharoah Sanders & Bill Laswell (& others); the musicians take a heartbeat as the rhythmic base, and play (improvise?) over it. Very restful.
Next up - Dennis Bovell "The Dubmaster" - 38-track 2CD overview of his work from 1976 onwards (just £7.99 in HMV at the moment!)

Various bits of Eliza Shaddad, courtesy of her Bandcamp page which popped up in my feed recently : https://elizashaddad.bandcamp.com/We saw her somewhat unplanned at Beautiful Days this summer - we'd wandered over to the Big Top area to get lunch and got sucked into her set. A strong solo show, with just her voice and a very competently played fuzzy electric guitar. She sounds a bit softer and more polished on record, which I guess is to be expected, but still a strong presentation. I think I could grow to like her music. One last thing, she reminds me of Bryde, who I've been following for a while and have mentioned here a couple of times. I'd recommend giving both a listen. Cheers Nick |

Not familiar with Eliza Shaddad, but I'm a recent convert to the music of Bryde. Very impressed with the two CDs I have of hers.

Amazon have reduced the price of the CD version again, now £59.91. Very glad I cancelled my original order with Bandcamp/Earth now which would have cost me another £40 with postage. |

Sandy Denny : Rendezvous (Island/UMC LP reissue, 2022).
This is the best I've heard this. I've been playing a Hannibal edition for some years, but this sounds better by a good margin, though I had some work done on my Tt not long ago.
The problem with this album in any edition is the way it was produced. Sandy's voice is swamped in the production. It's entirely different from the LP entitled Sandy, where the vocal is up front and central. Even so, I can now hear all or most of the words, and there's a lyric insert for when you can't.

Originally issued in 2004, this edition is a new release by Earth. Remastered and with a slightly different track listing from the original.
It’s made up of alternative versions, demos and live tracks.

Like a lot of 'later' Albion Band material I've long thought By Gloucester Docks was a bit, well, 'naff'. But I got a very cheap copy of the 2020 remaster and listened to it earlier and really enjoyed it. There's still a slight hint of 'songs from Play School' in one or two places but as a whole I was pleased to be engaging positively with material I know a lot of other people value very highly.
To balance things up a bit I've been very much enjoying the new Richard Dawson album, The Ruby Cord. I still don't really understand what he does, but I do like it a lot.

Family at the BBC 7CD & 1DVD box set. I've been meaning to get this since it came out a few years ago so thought I'd finally take the plunge now Burning Shed have it for under £50.
