So...I'm currently going through my currently annual 'Do I really wanna see Neil one more time' arguments with myself.
Not seen Elvis since Glasto '86 when he was in the crowd next to me (who was admittedly somewhat chemically enhanced but had this confirmed by neighbours) watching t'Pogues. Elvis was in his mad hairy beardy stage. Never seen him live but am not actively opposed to doing so.
Saw Elvis in Bristol solo some years ago. Fabulous evening which was energetic and showed how great the songs are. Saw him again in London with his band and we decided to leave after 4 songs, sound was appalling, overdriven, distorted and couldn't make out the words Elvis was yelling through his mic. Bass made me feel ill. Put me off trying again but interested to see how this goes.

Pete Roth Trio at West End Centre in Aldershot 28th November. A chance to see the wonderful Bill Bruford...
Just bought a ticket for that this morning at the desk before an art class i attend. I was umming and arring about it as Jazz is not something i know much about, but as its a 10minute walk though it would be rude not too.

Having decided Mr anti-Corporate Rock, Neil Young can go swivel due to the very Corporate Rock prices for his gigs, I'm getting really rather tempted by this lovely little lineup. Hard not to smile watching these four acts, I'd have thought....
Let's hope this isn't silly money too....?

Mrs. J From A and I loved this show in Austin, even after it was delayed by two hours for rain. Two great performances from two great bands. Kate and Cindy were in particularly fine form and harmonized beautifully on “Dead Beat Club” and “Roam.”

I’ve signed up for Neil and Elvis in Chelmsford. After all, one of us might be dead before I get another chance to see the man who inspired my collection of plaid shirts in person again.* Upon discussing this with a friend he commented that “He’s gone, can’t sing, I wouldn’t bother” before realising he was talking about Declan. By coincidence, I’ve just been reading Tom Hibbert on the subject of Charlie Sexton, who is playing with EC.
*I know - that doesn’t really make sense, but it’s late.

I've bought a ticket for the Bath show. That'll be a nice little pre-birthday present to myself.

Where else better to see a band named Railroad Earth than in the Caverns of Grundy, Tennessee on February 21? Now they would be a superb act for Cropredy!

Where else better to see a band named Railroad Earth than in the Caverns of Grundy, Tennessee on February 21? Now they would be a superb act for Cropredy! I saw them in Glasgow 15-20 years back, on the back of a time spent loving music by bands like String Cheese Incident, Yonder Mountain String Band etc etc. That whole bluegrass jam band scene created some pretty decent music. I have to say they've entirely dropped off my radar, and the only recorded music of theirs I've got does nothing for me but they were great live, and I strongly imagine still are....
