Maybe Garbage, Wednesday at ACL Live.

Fair play to you John, this time the band aren't quite yet of a pensionable age.  Grin

Didn't see this one coming...  On FB:

From Geddy

“It’s been over 10 years since Alex and I have performed the music of RUSH alongside our fallen bandmate and friend Neil. A lifetime’s worth of songs that we had put our cumulative hearts and souls into writing, recording and playing together onstage. And so, after all that has gone down since that last show, Alex and I have done some serious soul searching and come to the decision that we ******g miss it, and that it’s time for a celebration of 50-something years of RUSH music. So in 2026 my BFF Lerxst (aka Alex Lifeson) and I are going to hit the road once again to pay tribute to our past and to Neil by performing a vast selection of RUSH songs in a handful of cities. No small task, because as we all know Neil was irreplaceable.⁣

Yet life is full of surprises, and we’ve have been introduced to another remarkable person; an incredible drummer and musician who is adding another chapter to our story while continuing her own fascinating musical journey. Her name is Anika Nilles, and we could not be more excited to introduce her to our loyal and dedicated RUSH fanbase, whom, we know, will give her every chance to live up to that near impossible role. Before we hit the stage, we also hope to add another musician or two to expand our sound a wee bit and free up Alex and I, in order to show off some of our new fancy dance steps. ⁣

Lerxst, Anika and myself, along with many of our longstanding crew members have been hard at work rehearsing and designing the kind of RUSH show you’ve grown accustomed to expect from us. We dearly hope you will come along and help us celebrate our history together.”⁣

I just saw that. I thought they had decided it would never happen. Would love them to come to the UK, but I imagine tickets would be beyond my reach even then.

If it works well for them all, I'd have thought a European jaunt was possible in the Autumn or in 2026...can't see many dates happening though - most of these enormodomes are c.15-20k capacity and there's only 12 dates for the whole of North America.  So, yeah, expect prices through the roof.

My rule of thumb is I don’t go to see them live until their videos have aired on MTV Classic. (Midge Ure, I’m looking at you.) One ticket secured for dear Shirley and the gang Wednesday night!

And the reconstituted Rush at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas, next June is a possibility if I can afford it…

It's not really going to be a rehearsal is it... I suspect their 'under rehearsed' will be a lot tighter than most people's rehearsed.

Al Stewart at GLive in Guildford on Saturday night.  Looking forward to it - billed as his farewell tour (though he is saying he will still play some gigs, just not do tours, in future), and getting some good reviews on Al groups on FB.

Lol.

Due to venue upgrades on two of the venues there are now tickets available for Cardiacs in Manchester and Glasgow if anyone is interested....

That's a funny one. It's a venue that usually offers value for money. And a big act who could arguably justify that in a different venue. But yeah.

We like the Sub Rooms and if we move nearer at some point, will become a regular haunt. We've been to a couple of gigs there and enjoyed the ambience. But Todd, although great in his day, seems to be another 77-year-old cashing in (or attempting to) on a reputation that, frankly, is outdated.

Just a handful of seats left for Fairport at the Sub Rooms in a couple of weeks. Seem to be towards the back of the hall.

I suspect the argument would be that in the current ticket market that does offer value for money with seeing a major league artist in a compact venue.  Horses/courses and all that...(I wouldn't either).

Will be seeing that Rick Wakeman in an hour or so. Aylesbury Friars Club gig - a very good use of a Sunday evening.

Cheers
