Lindisfarne on Saturday, in Maesteg. Yes, I know there's only one original member left, but that could apply to another band we all know who are still going strong! In fact I've seen them on both of their farewell tours, in 1975 and 2003. This version of the band are well worth watching - although they've recently lost long time bassist Ian Thomson and I've no idea who the new man is, so this will be another 'first' Grin

You ever seen Ray Laidlaw and Billy Mitchell's "Lindisfarne Story"?  They're playing in Keswick and I was tempted...

One festival we attended in the last couple of years had three versions of Lindisfarne playing. The then-current-version of "Lindisfarne" with Alan Hull's son-in-law who he never met, the "Silver Blues" with Ray Jackson (they did do other tunes but soon descended into Lindisfarne numbers as they were best received) and the "Alan Hull Project" (or somesuch) with no-one that I found memorable.

There's only a certain number of versions of "Fog On The Tyne" I can take and it was a bit of overload really.

I don't know The Alan Hull Project, but I'm familiar with The Alan Hull Songbook, who comprised Dave Hull-Denholm and Ian Thomson. Also, it's not correct that Alan never met his son in law. He was his guitar tech and eventually joined Lindisfarne in 1994 (Alan's died in 1995.) In fact, he completed the production of Alan's last solo album 'Statues & Liberties' following his death. Obsessed, me? Grin

Thanks for the corrections. It probably was the "Songbook".

As to Alan not meeting his son-in-law, that was told to me by a member of Lindisfarne, so they were obviously misinformed.

Just announced - Jon Anderson and The Band Geeks in June at the historic Paramount Theater!

Yes please. I enjoyed seeing Steve Howe’s Yes last summer but this is closer to the real thing.

No problem. I normally bow to your knowledge, Andy, so an occasional misstep is allowed Grin
