I won't be attending, but Roy Harper has announced 3  gigs @ London, Birmingham and Manchester.   I'll hold onto the nmemmory of his last 'final'  tour.  Forget the year but it was a wondrous night  at The Sage.

A few upcoming :
Thursday - Ellie Gowers at Liverpool Philharmonic Music Room (going with my youngest daughter)
Saturday - Gaelynn Lea matinee show at Band on the Wall
Tuesday - Home Service at Waterside Arts Center, Sale (1st time seeing these, would have loved to have seen them with John Tams)
Saturday 24th - Neighbourhood Weekender in Warrington with lots of indie bands - James, Bluetones, Ks. Not quite my thing but wife and daughters are quite excited about it.

Seth Lakeman on Thursday at the Plough in Great Torrington
A week later, at the same venue, not a gig but a theatrical production of Farm Boy - the follow-up to War Horse - followed by a Q&A with Michael Morpurgo
And the next day, Jackie Oates in Launceston as part of the Poetry Festival

Gig skipped - Jason Bonham's Led Zeppelin Experience featuring Physical Graffiti, last night at the Paramount. I thought hard about this one, but yesterday was just extra-Monday. I hope everyone had a good time - it sold very well.

Next gig up - The Righteous Brothers (Bill Medley and Bobby Hatfield's replacement), June 7, at ACL Live. I'm looking forward to this. I hope Austin turns out, but advance sales aren't very promising. This is the last rodeo for Mr. Medley, who turns 85 later this year. But I hear he's having the time of his life.

Highly recommended. I saw their show in Otford last Friday and they were excellent. This is their last tour so catch them while you can.

Last minute, as the visitors we were expecting this evening have called off, but we're off to Launceston to see local folk/rock band The Countrymen at the Town Hall.

Good luck with getting tickets for this or anything there. Tickets for some reason seem to sell out very quickly?

It's got a capacity of 200.  It's nationally known and respected.  It punches WELL above its weight in terms of who plays there, has done for many years, and it has a very loyal membership along with additional punters.  They're doing what they do very well - and all power to them.

Oh, and its in Hebden Bridge.  If you know it, you know what I mean...

I do know Hebden Bridge and know what you mean - it's different. My brother lived in the next village down Mirfield for a few years  and the vibe was similar. I presume the members get first dibs on the tickets before they get released as everytime I fancy going to something it's sold out - having said that I'm sure my friend got tickets to see Patti Smith there last year?

Sometimes the members do, but not always.  The Unthanks sold out in about 5 mins...you need to be on your marks.  Hint: they generally release the tickets 2 or 3 mins early

The Muses were very good at the Cluny - also a small venue- capacity  275-300.
Cluny2 is smaller and seated- 180.

Surely they normally play at larger venues don't they?  Live music is really in trouble if not...unless you're a Robbie tribute act, of course.
