If you are Chris Leslie, please don’t take a banjo.

Yep.  Assuming he's well enough, I think this will be a Maart-dominated set.  For that alone, I wish I was there.  I look forward to hearing it.

Arguably, they get a pretty good airing most years though...?

Yes I know. I do go to Cropredy Festival most years as well. I was just making a comment.

OK maybe it was just me...thought you were saying “D’oh don’t you know they sing Sandy’s songs then!”

I apologise  Sleepy

Nothing to apologise for.  Again, assuming Maart is up to it, we'll both be right, I imagine...lots of Maart era stuff and lots of Sandy material too...and maybe Maart playing on some of the latter too  Smiley

Just a cautionary word, despite the circumstances, Maart isn't guaranteed to play on Saturday evening.

As far as I know, he's only confirmed as playing with the Barsteward sons of Val Doonican.

Unless, of course, I missed some announcement?

"I shall play my final live performance at the Fairport Cropredy Convention this August, but I shall continue to make music while I draw breath. "

Assuming he is well enough, I'd bet my last quid he'll be on that stage on Saturday night.

If you had been a significant member of Fairport and still a very good friend of theirs, why would you want to play your final live gig with the Doonican thingies? I think it's a no-brainer really (health permitting).
