As we find out about Fairport's Cropredy Convention 2018, this is the topic for your comments.

What artists have been announced? What do you think? And how about links to their web sites and videos.

Have you spotted an artist who has let slip that they are playing?

Comments on the new ticketing system. Does the numbering system tell you anything?

That sort of stuff.

I can't wait to find out. It'll be announced just as we are leaving the GBFF at Butlins where we will have seen Fairport.  Wonder if there will be any clues given when they perform...

It'll be interesting what sort of ticket will be produced - I've only ever known the Ticket Factory produce print-at-home scanable-at-the-door/gate type.

Tickets go on sale at 10.00 Monday 4th December. Some acts to be announced then, full line-up early next year. As per FC website today.

I don't really care who is playing I shall be buying my tickets at 10:00 a.m. on Monday morning as I want to be on Field 8 on Wednesday night. We were there last year and it was great not having to stagger back to Barnstones after a night in the Brasenose!!

We are newbies compared to most people on here having first attended in 2012, basically to see Squeeze and Big Country. But we have been back every since and will continue to do so as long as there is a festival. I have seen some great acts who I probably wouldn't have gone to see otherwise. Level 42 being a prime example. Not a band that I would say I am a fan of but they were great. Loved their horn section.

I have also loved Alice Cooper , The Levellers, 10CC, The Wonderstuff, Madness, Saw Doctors, Steve Hackett, Bellowhead, Skinny Lister, Toyah Wilcox, Katzenjammer, to name but a few. I even liked some of the folk music!!

I see Merry Hell are playing at the Brasenose. I can strongly recommended them having seen them as we hale from the same part of the country. Good northern socialists just what Cropredy needs.

However I do hope there is a good quality rock  band on tyhe line up. Black Star Riders would be good. Not to be big to unafforadable.

Here's hoping!!

Just a reminder.

This topic is intended to be about the artists actually appearing at Fairport's Cropredy Convention as they are announced and experiences with the new ticketing system.

There are plenty of other topics for other posts and you can start your own.

A few time outs,  but tickets obtained confirmation email says numbers 194-195 and talks about tickets being posted out 2 weeks before the event, hopefully they mean 2 weeks before Christmas !

No early buyer discount, so not much incentive to buy early.

Several people I know have now said that the phone line isn't being answered.

No doubt this will be rectified eventually.

Can anyone explain to me what this entirely manufactured sense of panic being articulated around online is all about?  People have a minimum of 6 months (probably much longer) to obtain tickets.

I guess if someone wants to get tickets as a Christmas gift making sure they arrive in good time matters (in some way), equally for the 200 Field 8 Wednesday night tickets - as for everyone else I would think tickets will still be available in Auguts 2018, cant imagine another sell out really.

Unless you are desperate to get on field 8, I also don't see the panic. I suppose its nice to give them as Christmas Presents, or treat yourself, but getting on as the box office opens only leads to a rush and it crashing. I know last year the team were so inundated on day one the tickets were getting held up. With the first 1000 getting a signed Christmas card, even that wont sell out in a couple of days. Lets face it, Cropredy is popular with the faithful, but its not Glastonbury!
Still, if they announce YES, Neil Young or David Gilmour this afternoon, I'll be straight online!

I cannot go next year. I am playing in a field somewhere else ( actually 2 different fields on the same day!!!)but I have never understood buying tickets for a fest when you don't know who you are going to see??
Don't reply. Some of you who have already bought tickets are friends of mine. Each to his own.
