Hi all,

I've been directed to this site via the Fairport Convention official website as possibly the best place to find someone that may be interested in a bass guitar that was made for Dave Pegg.

I am selling some musical instruments on behalf of a neighbour of mine that sadly died at Christmas; his widow has asked me if I'd help her and that has led me here!

As it is quite a unique item, I wasn't sure of the value but having spoken to Mike Vanden, I think around £900 should be about right.  I believe that it may have been used at the 1987 Cropedy Festival and that it may be on the front cover of the album 'In Real Time' although I'm not sure of that, but perhaps someone could confirm who has better knowledge than me!  It is a 'Sunburst' design I think and comes with a hard flight case.

I'm not a musician unfortunately so I don't know a whole lot about the instrument other than what it looks like but if anyone has any questions, please either respond to the post or give me a call on 07977 530085,

Lastly I don't know whether I've posted this in the right place as couldn't see a specific classifieds section, but if it's wrong then please let me know.

Thanks

Toby

I don't know how to post images but I'll try to include some. If it doesn't work, please let me know as I have several pictures I can email to anyone that wants.

thanks, I thought I'd try a slightly more specialist route before trying the dreaded ebay but that'll be my next stop if no-one is interested on this site.

As for folk music, not really my thing I have to admit although I do like most stuff, apart from country!

definitely no beard, although I am hairy!

As for pics, if anyone can tell me how to easily post a pic I'll get some up.  I tried to search on the site for a guide but couldn't find anything easily...

Haven't got time at the minute (just burned the yorkshires)  Cry Will find out though, it may add extra value to the bass if he had a beard Grin

Very nice.  I still recommend ebay though, as much as it pains me to do so, but you will get a much wider audience.
PS: Whilst it's open season for blatent(TM) adverts, anyone fancy buying the Red & Gold guitar Huh Undecided  My funds they are a dwindling Embarrassed

Toby, you will likely need to provide provenance that it belonged to Peggy if you hope to get that price.

I wonder if i could persuade SWMBO that I always had a fretless - it was just hidden under the spare bed Grin

thanks for posting the pics up for me.  I think Mike Vanden will provide authentication for it if that becomes necessary.
