Only tangentially Fairport-related, admittedly (Mr. Bruce Lacey is in there somewhere), but this might be of interest to those who remember the Hippie Medieval Fair(e)s of the 70's - the tiniest vestiges of which still seemed to be present at Cropredy when I started attending in the late eighties.... Apologies if this has been posted here before, but this is the 1970 documentary London Rock (in full), with Marc Bolan, Linda Lewis, The Faces, Matthews' Southern Comfort and Fairport Convention. Snippets of the Fairport bit were included in the Sky Arts Fairport doc. last year.

Outstanding.  Not seen that before...and certainly never seen Peggy (who doesn't seem to trouble the camera man very much) look so hairy!

Thumbs up from me for Plainsong. I don't think I've seen any video of this original line-up before.

I know Fairport have never been known for their sartorial elegance but what the heck does Swarb look like here?

Also is it only his vocals live or is he miming as well?

Fantastic! saw Plainsong play to about 15 people in a pub in Minehead on one of my days off from Butlins  summer holiday job. Middle 70s? Anyway I can claim I had a piss next to Andy Roberts and Ian Matthews.

Annoying "watermark," but I've been dying to see this one for year.

It's such a shame that the only copy that exists is the "re-run" of it in 1975 which had Sandy's Breakfast In Mayfair cut from the reel! Still great to see it though.

Lovely: great to see it in such good quality. Simon always looked like he spent far too much time indoors in those days, didn't he?
