Thanks for that      I used to have this.... it's rather sweet. (Bit weird that Maart isn't credited on the sleeve though?) |

Yeah, he's mentioned on the back cover as playing keyboard and guitar, but not as one of the main names on the front! |

Not Fairport, but Dutch duo Ygdrassil (featuring Linde Nijland who does have an FC link)http://youtu.be/hfXQyOFoMDM doing a wonderful version of Sandy's North Star Grassman. Love that. |

I have been remiss in never really tracking down vintage Fairport clips on You Tube previously but this thread has now lead me to some previously unknown gems. The Ainsdale Beach concert in particular is great quality and must be worthy of a commercial release? Perhaps there is more chance though of the Rockpalast set from 1976 appearing as quite a number of Rockpalast shows have found their way onto DVD lately. One can but hope. |

Have there-formed lineup (ie since 1985) ever done capers - it would really suit Ric?

I have the full 50 min video on a hard drive somewhere. Michael (fstix / nearlyoutofideas on youtube) has uploaded bits and pieces to Youtube and has maybe done the whole show by now. If not, I'll try and fond some time to edit and upload the missing tracks. |

OK, this is sort of a cheat because it's not really Fairport-related, except in so far as I can't help wondering how he would go down at Cropredy. And he is amazing. Ladies and gentlemen, Jon Gomm:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nY7GnAq6Znw&feature=related No: I'm not his agent (though he is the brother of one of my students). |

Great Rockpalast-clips. Good examples of why I always liked Fairport, music and good humour combined.... |

The full "London Rock" clip of Now Be Thankful.  I think, though I'm not sure, that this is longer than the edit I've seen before:-http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qXC8Gic43LY Jules |

And I like the way that Swarb was described as 'lead singer' (not a mention of fiddles etc!) |

And I like the way that Swarb was described as 'lead singer' (not a mention of fiddles etc!) I guess that going on the evidence of Now Be Thankful, he was a lead singer....and indeed there wasn't a fiddle in sight! Jules |

Does anyone know how Swarb and RT divvied-up the music/lyric writing on the songs they co-wrote? |

I'm not sure that's a question you can ask any musician.. it's delving into personal finance territory    |

I'm not sure that's a question you can ask any musician.. it's delving into personal finance territory   Is it? I thought it was just a question about working practice, rather than divvying up of funds. My recollection from one of the RT interviews I've seen is that he mostly wrote the words to Swarb's melodies. |
