Love these clips, thanks for sharing.  I thought I'd seen something like this before but I'd never seen any evidence of them online.  Now I know I wasn't imagining it!  Shame Simon doesn't use the dulcimer anymore.  I think it'd fit nicely with the current sound.

According to Facebook, he's recently had it serviced as he 'needs it for touring'.  Cheesy

My pal Nick (who has recently joined here but who I've known for years from other music forums) had this to say about the Bonny Bunch/Tipplers-era Fairport clips:-

"Interesting how Fairport had, by this stage, a virtuoso 'lead' bassist and a more basic guitarist (Simon certainly didn't want
to be flash, and Peggy compensates in the way that Enwistle did with The Who)."

I thought that was pretty astute.

So the spring tour may be featuring Flowers of the Forest -or the chaps are undertaking a series of cricket matches against teams from the venues...  Roll Eyes

With the addition of a further instrument - fiddle - taking on may lead licks that would be a guitar in any other band

Oh indeed.  I'm sure Nick didn't mean to sideline the legendary Mr Swarb!
