Blimey!

There is an entire website dedicated to John 'Babbacombe' Lee. An interesting read with some previously unknown snippits of information (he died in 1945 in America, apparently):

Cheers

Amazing! There's at least three more concept albums in that lot!

Do we think he did it, by the way?

I never used to but after reading that lot I think perhaps that he might have.
He seems to have been a bit of a dodgy character

As for John Lee - well the (modern day) jury's out on that one. Does look like he wasn't whiter than white though.

I still have my badge with the picture of the noose, saying "Don't Hang John Lee"

This is soooooo eerie.

A few hours before returning to this web site, I was discussing the John Lee story to coworkers,
that have no clue about the LP/CD and know only a bit about Fairport Convention.  If not for me,
they wouldn't know they existed.  For shame.    Huh

Anyhoo, I asked them if they knew the story of John, and then proceeded to do a Google Search,
to show them what I was talking about.  They found the story interesting, I then told them how
Fairport had dedicated not only a song, but a whole Album to John "Babbacombe" Lee.

I get home from work and see this thread, and go.......... Whoooooaaaaaa!   Shocked    Fez

Now, I gotta pull up the murderresearch.com site.   Thanks!   Cool
