My pleasure. Can’t preorder yet, and as usual need to consider US options but I’d say for fans this is a not to miss.

Tempting, but the price... I know that for the content it is probably good value, but still...

It's probably a sad state of affairs that I actually thought it might be a little higher than this. I do hope Martin and the family are getting a goodly chunk. I rather think they will be... It will also be nice to have one more MC autograph to add to the pile.

Much as i love MC's work, i don't think i 'll pay out for this.
For one thing when will i get to listen to it all? Still haven't opened my Dick Gaughan box. Next year will be my 70th on this earth. Swedish death cleaning is a consideration.

Why is this £240 for 20 cds and, say, the Leo Sayer one is £65 for 18 cds. Opinions on the perceived quality of the music are not relevant as they are both established artistes.

a) quality (packaging etc. not musical quality...) and b) probably most importantly, economies of scale. And backing perhaps, this was put together by a very small team....? Ultimately, it's like saying one doesn't understand why a jag costs more than a mini, isn't it? I mean the Nick Drake box was near enough £100 for 4 discs. If they get the pricing wrong, they won't sell. I bet this sells out and proves to be a decent investment (another answer to your question perhaps)...

Poor argument, and you can't have seen the Leo Sayer packaging. Profiteering. I paid 20 quid for the Nick Drake.

As someone who still hasn't got a copy of this, I am fully green with envy. Jules

We are talking about the same thing - the Making of Five Leaves Left? If so you have by far the cheapest copy in the UK (by a factor of about 3).

Do keep us posted. I've held back on this one for reasons I already mentioned. I have been known to change my mind about things like this.

It is too much of a good thing, of course but I'm also very pleased to have it. Really well put together. Aesthetically 10/10.
