I see the new Brandon Flowers album has David Rawlings on guitar, an interesting combination.

I'm absolutely no fan of The Killers, but I'd be intrigued to hear that.

There must be at least one Soft Machine fan around here. So, if they don't know yet, a 17 disc box is coming, covering the CBS years. People are quite excited about this, though not a lot of the material is unreleased.

Initially very excited when I read the news although the finer detail diminishes that excitement rather than develops it. It's a maybe from me.

On the heels of last year's deluxe edition of Foreigner 4, they're releasing a deluxe edition of Head Games. Like the other, it includes demos, early takes, and a live concert recorded on the associated tour.
I know Foreigner is corporate rock, blah blah blah, but I think Lou Gramm is one of the finest rock singers in history, and I particularly love new live releases from the classic era.

And the BBC material is expanded and I'm told it's from a better source. I have the original Windsong discs which sound fine to me.

Coming October 30, The Who By Numbers Super Deluxe!
This is the great lost Who album, and the last in my opinion that completely lacks filler. The Super Deluxe edition will include the Who's 1976 show at Swansea and the first official DVD release of a live U.S. show from Pontiac, Michigan in 1975, plus demos and studio outtakes.

Oh, I'd missed that this included The Vetch show. I'm moderately tempted....

There’s Phil Lynott box set due shortly and buried in the middle of CD 5 there’s a track called ‘A Tribute to Sandy Denny’. Has anyone come across this on a deep dive before? Apparently it was a one off single with an Irish band called Clann Eadair.

There's a remastered "Rubber Soul" with loads of extras coming.
If you can afford it.
Incidentally, saw a Martin Carthy vinyl box set for £220 at the weekend.
Even if I had a record player, I'm just not in that market.

I believe it was Along The Road Forever: Live At The BBC. Apparently also available as a 20 CD Box Set. I backed away rapidly because of the cost, I have to say. It's probably great value.

I have the Bert Jansch sessions on vinyl but it doesn't have everything from the CD version .

Ah, I was backing away rapidly, so incorrectly identified it as vinyl.

Sorry, I probably wasn’t clear - was anyone familiar with this before Googling it yesterday?
