Off to Beardy tomorrow in our half-finished new Campervan. Bed, Fridge, cooker and awning will have to cover it.

Acts will include Elles Bailey, the Peatbog Faeries and An Audience with Mark Radcliffe, so I have a feeling it'll be a good one.

Welcome to sunny Shropshire! I've ordered the weather for you! Have fun! I will be at my towns free music festival.

Unthanks Winter Tour.  We're sitting in a box at the Liverpool Phil'.  Get us.

If you're on the fence, do listen to the album - it really is as good as the reviews made it out to be.  Right up there with Frost & Fire....

Ian McNabb tonight, Haircut 100 tomorrow and Sparko from Dr. Feelgood on Sunday.  Old school weekend.

Let me know how McNabb goes. Last time a friend saw him he spent half the time tuning his twelve-string and the other half getting the audience to sing the choruses.

Twas a fab night.  12 string behaved, usual singalongs, cracking setlist.

Just booked flights, buses, hotels and 3-day pass for the MoonJune festival in Teramo (Italy) next month.  Lots of prog and jazz - David Cross Band, Markus Reuterr with Truce, Gong, Soft Machine, Steve Hillage and Miquette Giraudy playing Rainbow Dome Music.  Actual pass was only c.£85!

Down to Chelmsford tomorrow for the replacement headliner and the poorly-reviewed Costello show. No golf umbrellas allowed. Best take a hat.

Good luck. Let's hope you don't hit a traffic jam when you're already late... 🙄

Martin Fry ABC in Hereford in August.  Wife's choice, but I did enjoy the first LP. I expect a very polished show.

The George Harrison Project at the Grand Theatre here in Lancaster tomorrow night.

They haven't sold a huge number of tickets which is a shame but I'm looking forward to it.

After an unusually long break, I have more shows coming up:

4 August at ACL Live: Howard Jones, Wang Chung, and Modern English

9 August at Dickie’s Arena, Fort Worth: The Guess Who (Burton Cummings, Randy Bachman, and the Burton Cummings Band) and Don Felder of the Eagles

I’m excited about both. I’ve never seen the New Wave Trio, whose music I strongly associate with my undergraduate years and MTV, back when it actually aired music videos.

The Guess Who is a make-up date for me. Five genuine GW alumni (Burton, Randy, original drummer Gary Peterson, guitarist Donnie McDougall and bassist Bill Wallace) toured for three years 2000-2003 as The Guess Who under a licensing agreement with the then-owner of the brand, former bassist Jim Kale. After the agreement expired, Kale resumed touring (with Peterson) and a group of pick-up musicians. It took Burton and Randy over 20 years to wrest the name away from Kale, which led to the current tour. Peterson and Kale were obviously disqualified, but Donnie and Bill potentially could have come along for this tour. Instead, Burton just added Randy to his band and they call it The Guess Who. I’m thrilled to see them together again, but wistfully disappointed that I missed the 2000-2003 iteration. Needless to say, I avoided Kale’s Klones even though they played in Austin multiple times during the interim.
