My wife and I are going to be in London for one night on May 10th, on the way back to the US from Italy. Any good music going on that evening? Hard to know where to look, from here.

Do it if you can Sam - I saw Albert Lee playing second fiddle (er...guitar) to Eric Clapton in 1983 on the "Money and Cigarettes" tour. Brilliant guitarist, as well as a fine organist and singer.

Thanks, Paul. And I saw that tour, too, John. Lee blew Clapton away. And that was, I believe, the only time I've seen him play, so maybe once every 40 years is what I should figure on.

Looking at that Metro Listings that PaulT posted, Sarah Smout at the Green Note might be a likely good folk-ish gig.

Prior to reading her website, I didn't know anything about her, but I'd be intrigued to see her play if I were anywhere near one of the venues.

Cheers

In case anyone cares, we've settled on Christina Alden & Alex Patterson at the Cecil Sharp House. If anyone here is also going, I'd love to meet you in person!
