This topic is intended for general reports covering the whole festival, rather than reviews.

Things like:

Meeting up with people.
Selfies of you with Peggy.
What do you think of the merch?
Food.
Did you find the 'Fight Club' bogs? (Rule 1 etc.....)

If you're adding photos, please read the 'About Photos' topic.

That'll be because they used mont instead of mint.

I'm sorry, my daughter isn't coming out tonight.

Home, both cars emptied, all four of us showered, first wash in the machine and daughter who didn’t come with us has lunch sorted. Just in time for the Liverpool game. Result!

Musically it was a curates egg but as always Cropredy was fab despite some rain. Proper reviews and thoughts later but in the meantime if anyone hears of someone finding a 2002 Fairport baseball cap with a Disney badge on it (grumpy-one of the 7 dwarves) then give me a shout. Managed to lose it in the rain on Saturday night. Yes I know I’ve no chance of getting it back but this is Cropredy after all so you never know.

My pleasure in folk music is the taking a snapshot of history and passing it along musically. There were several performers who capturing this beautifully for me;

The serious ones...
Eric Sedge's ballad to his adopted daughter and the long term affects of her early life.
Richard Digance's "Salisbury" made the hair on my neck stand on end.

and the delightful....
Kate Rusby's Bill rescuing a woman from "a lukewarm glass of water, a dusty teabag and a pot of UHT milk". I have needed that Hero so many times. Smiley

The tradition rolls on.

I know it's Fairport's festival, and everything is leading up to their big set on Saturday, but this year the sound quality for some of the preceeding turns seemed quite poor, and they weren't as well lit as they could have been. If it hadn't been for the big screens I am not sure I'd have known who some of the artists were!

I enjoyed the artists I saw and missed a lot because I didn't want to sit out in the rain. I think I'm getting soft  Smiley
