November 24, 2012

Greetings from Ohio in the US!

Recently I watched a Ralph McTell Youtube video. McTell was singing his composition "A Kiss In The Rain". The song is about Anne Briggs handing off her version of "Blackwaterside" to Bert Jansch.

The Youtube video was not of high quality and as I attempted to write down the lyrics I was unable to determine key verses.

After a search of the Internet I discovered that not a single lyrics website had the words to this wonderful song.

I have joined this chat forum to ask the members to assist me, if they can, in tracking down the lyrics to McTell's song,
"A Kiss In The Rain".

Thank you!

The album booklet to Somewhere Down the Road (featuring the song) may have the lyrics?

Indeed, the lyrics are in the booklet supplied with (at least) the CD version of "Somewhere Down the Road".

Yes, I may well have to buy the CD, if I can find a firm here in the US which offers his recent work, Somewhere Down The Road, and that the lyrics to A Kiss In The Rain are indeed enclosed.

It is a curious thing that as popular a singer as Ralph McTell is, and his excellent song about two folk legends of the 1960's, singer Anne Briggs and guitarist Bert Jansch, that a quality Youtube version of the song, and the lyrics, are absent from the Internet.
