Is there a chance Fairport will be touring the US anytime soon? I sure hope so Tiara.

Thanks Chris! That is good news. Those two shows are still a little far from home for us. I am pretty sure they will be at the Birchmere near Washington DC. They always seem to book that venue . That is only an 8 hour drive for us but we will porbably go unless we can get them a little closer to home. Cinncinati is only 6 hours drive, maybe they will play there. At least they are coming across the pond!!! That is good Tiara!!! I think I'll write some venues and see if I can put a bug in their ear that Fairport is coming to the US in June Grin.Do you think that will help??

Mindwarper,
Sorry you missed them last time. You live on the west coast don't you? They might make it out there this time too. Have hope.

Pat Garrett is indeed working on a trio tour for us in a four-week period commencing June 10th 2006. Early days yet but the website address is <http://www.rgmbooking.com/artists/fairport_convention/fc_lr.htm>

Thanks Simon! I'll try to put the venues and Mr. Garrett in touch. Maybe we can see you guys play in June and again in August at Cropredy. 2006 is looking good already.

It has to be Peggy Jim???  I don't understand this.  The tour is next June and yet being booked as a trio.....Simon, Ric and Chris?
I know there has been a few problems in the States on the last two tours, but is Peggy not going to appear there again??

Confused

Having opened for Fairport on some dates here, I have always got the impression that touring this country is very grueling for some of them. Just my impression...and I do want to stress that they have all been consistently charming in every way, and very, very gracious to their fans (and to their opening acts, not to mention!).

I, for one, will be looking forward to seeing them in whatever configuration.

I'll 2nd that!!!!!!   Please play near SF, Ca.  in a nice venue that serves yummy guinness. The Starry Plough, Slims, Great American Music Hall, and bimbos all come to mind.  But I'm just glad they are planning on visiting again next year.

ps Mark, what band do you play in?

Hi, Mindwarper,

Thanks for asking...I've been playing with a band called Common Ground for the last 26 years.  Shocked 26 years?!?!? Can that be right (sound of joints creaking)...?

If you would like a link to our web site, please PM me and I'll de delighted to send it to you. Probably wouldn't be good manners for me to post it on this site (advertising).

I do hope Fairport make it out to this side of the country...it's been way too long!

If you were to continually post nothing else but adverts for your band then that would not be nice...

...but we see that you're not like that, you make an excellent all-round contribution to the board  Smiley Please feel free to post your address and let us know what you do!

By the way, if you go into your profile and choose the page "Forum Profile Information" then you can put a Website address against your name. We will then see a little globe appear below your picture in each post. If we click on the globe we'll go to your web page.

Cheers
