If Chrysalis is clearing out the vaults, I hope they do Robin Trower next.

He's a lovely bloke, but really, Bridge Of Sighs, was his only album that resonated with me.

I bought the box set 1973-1983 of his first 10 albums from Amazon a few months ago for about £25. It is now £180 !!

Oops, I missed that. It's sold out at Amazon U.S. and selling on the secondary market for $200. Can you tell whether it's been remastered? I've bought and sold his entire catalog multiple times (fool me once, fool me twice, fool me thrice...). Sorry for drifting off topic.

Remastered at several different times, mostly about 10 years ago. No extra tracks and no live album.

From the Steeleye fan site.

"The highlights are 2 new live shows - The long wished for 'Rainbow Theatre' (London) show from 1974 and the Boston Berklee Performance Centre (USA) from 1976. A 1982 concert from Adelaide, is also included. This has been available previously on the 1983 (Australian only) LP 'On Tour', and most of it had featured on the 'Gone to Australia' 2001 CD.

Further live highlights are 3 additional tracks from the 'Live at Last' concert, including 'The Victory', which has not been available live before.
There are two studio outtakes of previously unreleased tracks - 'Singing the Travels (1972) and Devil's Dream (1975).
In addition there are alternative 'takes' of various studio tracks including versions of 'New York Girls', with more Peter Sellers Goons 'voices' , Gaudete 'take 1'; Galtee Farmer; Bach Goes Limerick; The Drunkard and finally a couple of instrumentals ('Ups and Downs' and 'Bachelors Hall')"

Having bought a lot of the albums already, it's the unreleased stuff that interests me most, but I doubt it'll be available separately.

True but if its the only way commercially to get unreleased tracks out there then so be it, take my money 💰 lol

Still pondering this one... Out of interest, do buyers of such box sets as these tend to get rid of the "superseded" LPs / CDs in their collection or hang on to them out of sentiment / the collector's instinct ?

I've got rid of next to no cds, some cassettes (come on David), and some vinyl where they are worth three figures (But not my favourites). The house is bursting.

I used to pass them on religiously. I'm less on the ball these days.

I tend to get rid of them, unless there is something very different (extra tracks, or whatever).

I have a stack of "superseded" CDs waiting to give away or sell to Half Price Books. They're covered in dust...

I bought the Lindisfarne 'Charisma Years' box. It consisted of their first 4 studio albums plus an extended Lindisfarne Live and several extras, including the US versions of songs that were never released here. I got rid of my original copies of those albums, seeing as it seemed a bit pointless to have extra copies of stuff.

I'm not enough of a fan for this.  And if I were, I'd have most of the music already, so buying it wouldn't be something I could justify to myself.

I love  steeleye up until around 1974, and I've enjoyed seeing them  live quite recently,  but I don't need all that later stuff. Now if someone were to reissue a Steeleye album or 2 on quality vinyl....

Amazon have it scheduled for the end of May, and at £6 cheaper.

I had all of the early stuff on LPs, but sadly they have gone the way of all things - to that great turntable in the sky. So I've ordered this and can't wait to give it a listen

I think I have the first 5 on vinyl, mostly bought in the 80s, though I liked Steeleye before that.  The first time I saw them in concert was around the time of 'Gaudete'.

I don't so much need persuading, as a windfall!  :D
