I have an eclectic taste (and record collection) but I can’t honestly think of any kind of music that I would be capable of (ie. not Indian music or saz or Afrique) that I haven’t done already. I just want to get better at them all…
It's pretty clear you have impressive and eclectic musical tastes. So what has made you a folkie?
Why do you think you've spent such a large slice of your musical career in the folk-rock end of the music spectrum? You've played with all sorts, from Goth bands through to Americana yet you are known most for your folk-related work. Is it down to chance, contacts (word-of-mouth) or do you have a more overriding interest in the British music tradition?
Cheers
Nick
