Fear & loathing in Lllllanvegas

« on: December 31, 2004, 07:12:48 PM »

Hi Maart. Could you tell us a bit about the Orchard Band? I know that because of Swarb's illness you didn't play many gigs, but was anything recorded? For the few gigs you did play what was the general flavour of the set-list?

Cheers, Carey

Orchard was a great idea and thanks to Swarb's miracle recovery I'm optimistic that we can play some more gigs in 2006. Kevin is a great musician, great singer and a real gent and Auntie Beryl is the Jerry Lee Lewis of the folk piano. There's nothing recorded by the four-piece though we all played on Swarb's English Fiddler album. We played twice in total (!) and both times in North Yorkshire. The setlist went out the window after the first number due to Swarb's lack of breath but we got through all the material anyway. It was a selection of Swarb and Beryl hits and some songs from Kevin. I hope we can do more next year.
