Intriguing - bound to be worth a listen.  I'm tempted to question any of those as actually being part of the counter culture, although arguably they might once have been, I suppose.

I think he just chose to interview his favourite famous contacts of a certain age, tbh.

They were all, at very least, witnesses.

Joe Boyd, for one, is quite the raconteur. He does always seem to be at the center of things.

I'm always  wary of another programme about the era. Rehash, oversimplify,  generalise and  basically tell  us what we already know is the rule with these programmes. It's not a bad programme for that time of day, but so far, 5 minutes in,  going for food shopping has proved more attractive.

I'm surprised if that's the case - Stewart is normally much more interesting than that.  About everything.  I'll see what I think sometime in the next few days...

Y know i may be just being old and grumpy. I hope it shapes up.
Radio 4 is a lifeline for me sometimes  and i do want the  quality  to hold.
The documentary about hiroshima last week was very good.

I caught a bit of Eliza Carthy and Jon Boden on Loose Ends yesterday talking about wassailing, winter plays and such things. They're out on tour next month - https://eliza-carthy.com/gigs

An hour programme on radio 4  this evening  about Mr. Bowie's  time in Berlin.

May well have been on before,  but  of interest anyway.

BBC2 Saturday night Joan Armatrading in concert. Lovely set with some wonderful lead guitar from Jerry Donahue. So nice to see him again.

Soul Music  on R4  -  'Northern Sky'  by Nick Drake.

I"ve heard a few of this series. Sometimes i find it tiresome, but hearing this for the second  time actually got to me emotionally.  It is a very fine song, one of his best,  and for all the talk about  Nick i feel we are only beginning  to see what a unique and gifted songwriter and musician he was.
