So, to clarify, I've heard Vicki singing Sandy stuff before and thought it fine. This performance I thought was twee. Not sure if that can be classed as pejorative-it just wasn't complimentary (nor intended to be). Surely we're allowed to have different opinions... actually, what really surprised me is that I got away with saying I can't stand RT's voice Views on his voice in general, aside (I like it, it is individual) I thought it sounded like RT had a cold this year, he sounded a bit poorly.

Hi Stephen B. Sorry to prolong this, but you said tweer than Rick's worst songs... Rick who? Or did you mean someone elses songs?? Who uses the word 'and' at the start of every line? Wasn't there - just trying to understand... 😉

Oops sorry, meant Chris (Leslie). I think many of his songs are brilliant but some rather twee. Re the "ands", she introduced quite a few lines with "and", which to me was irritating. What have I got myself into here?

Surely we're allowed to have different opinions
Of course we are. And to discuss them on a discussion site (I'd have thought that was the purpose of it, but what do I know)....

Thanks for resolving that I thought you probably meant Chris, but didn't like to presume.

Sure enough, I was wrong about the capacity for Croppers 2027.
The latest Fairport newsletter says they're sticking to a capacity of "around 7,000".
The continuing impact of the smaller capacity is twofold.
1) It keeps Cropredy financially viable
2) The funds for booking acts are less than would have been available in pre-COVID days I have every sympathy with 1) and know that they're going to do the best they can to get the best acts they can afford.
I urge everyone to support the festival, especially in their 60th anniversary year. Let's have a celebratory festival and a great time.

Richard Thompson and Iain Matthews are mentioned as special guests for Fairport's set, so it's a pretty solid bet that they will both be playing during the weekend.

Seconded! I agree but I think it will sell out easily and quickly anyway.
