I saw that advertised yesterday. Interesting. Oddly no Fairporters are mentioned amongst the performers?

I agree it is very odd.  But, as Paul suggests, there is obviously still a chance they will end up being involved....

True. Yet one would have thought that Simon and Peggy, at least, might be among the first to be asked.  RT & DM, being US-based, might not be so easily available.  Ashley of course is probably not available due to his stroke.

According to the latest interview I read, RT has moved back to London.

£84 seems expensive to me.

Pensions can only stretch so far.

Upcoming gigs... Marillion, in about half a hour.

I'm in Aylesbury, enjoying the Waterside Theatre once again. It's quite the hotbed of prog. Will be back up to see Steve Hackett in a month or so.

Cheers

Nick

Time flies... Steve Hackett tonight. Technically this should also be in Recent Gigs - they've just played a set of his solo material. Genesis stuff coming up in 15 mins or so...

Cheers!

Two in the next couple of weeks. Fairport at The Acapela, Pentyrch, on Tuesday. And Huw Williams at The Barry Folk Club in a couple of weeks time.

I'd love to see Huw Williams again. Brilliant songwriter and so many years since I booked him and Tony for our folk club. Enjoy.

Huw Williams turned up at the Brecon Folk & More club a few months ago. It's not a guest club so he just did three songs but it was nice to hear him again after so many years.

Aziz Ibrahim and full band at the local 80 seat craft ale bar on Thursday. Only seen him several times acoustic before and on Ian Brown's whistle stop tour.

Should be brilliant if it reflects his progress over the years.

This Saturday evening, I'm taking my granddaughter to see "beabadoobee" at the Germania Amphitheater.

This is a British-Filipino singer songwriter whose genre is labeled "bedroom pop." Apparently, this refers to young folks who record and release their songs on Youtube. Laufey got her start this way, as well, I am told.

After serving as an opening act for little-known performers such as Taylor Swift, beebadoobee is undertaking her first headline tour of the U.S. I've listened to some of the songs, and they're quite pleasant. I'm hoping for a good evening, but I doubt she will top Bruno Mars.
