Jane Siberry
Always interesting. Even the debut, which is the most conventional. She still records but no longer puts out physical albums.

Bill Nelson in many of his iterations, i had forgotten what a brilliant guitarist he is and how good his music is

Sinatra at the Sands. “How’d all these people get in my room!?” Cracking backing band…

Jefferson Airplane : Sunday August 17, 1969, Woodstock (Real Gone 3LP, Blue/white vinyl, 2024).
Only the 2nd time i've played this in full . By turns inspired, gruelling, beautiful, this is the Airplane's full set played on that day.

I've always thought the Airplane's set was the heart of the festival - and my favourite musical set. Can you define the 'gruelling'?

I've always thought the Airplane's set was the heart of the festival - and my favourite musical set. Can you define the 'gruelling'? Some very hard edged blues - 'Come Back Baby'. A 15 minute version of 'Wooden Ships'. A harsh sound intermittently on other tracks. Don't get me wrong, i think the set is a great listen- but one has to take the rough with the smooth. 🙂

Listening to a vinyl copy of Angel Delight which I found on eBay last week. Came in a gatefold sleeve and it's in good condition. It has a £2.19 sticker on the front but I paid a bit more than that for it.

I bought the vinyl reissue not long ago. It sounds good, which not all of the Fairport/ Sandy reissues from Island/universal do. A **** shoot, as our American cousins would call it.

Dick Gaughan Live in the 70s.
A 2 cd set, the first with Aly Bain from 1972 and the second a solo gig at the St Andrews Folk Club in 1977. It comes with a booklet which includes A Homage to Gaughan written by Robin Dransfield.

Red and Gold. Picked up an original copy in Out of Time Records today still with the lyric sheet and everything, which was nice.

37 years on, what do you reckon? It seemed like 'a big album' at the time, but very little has lasted well....I think. I guess the Bob was my favourite track at the time. Must give it another play...
