Live At Woodstock - The Butterfield Blues Band
Aja - Steely Dan
Reckless - Bryan Adams
The last of these I probably haven't played for 35 years. It was a big record when I was at college, partly because of Bryan's Reading connections, Reading being where I studied. Soon afterwards I became entirely too snobbish about music and started to regard Bryan's oeuvre as silly. But listening now, it has far less pretensions than I did at the time. And Bryan has always seemed like a decent chap. I am rather enjoying it.

Bad Company (debut)
Black Oak Arkansas - Best of
I first got into BOA when a friend gave me their album X-Rated, for my 21st as I remember, though there are no tracks from that album on the Best of. One of their drummers Tommy Aldridge went on to play with Ozzy and Whitesnake.
The first two Bad Company albums are two of the best albums produced by any British rock band (IMHO), certainly two I listen to more than most. |

The first two Bad Company albums are two of the best albums produced by any British rock band (IMHO), certainly two I listen to more than most. Both were brilliant albums but they were followed by some shockers. It's The Men They Couldn't Hang Here. As a former Reading resident, I didn't know Bryan Adams had any Reading connections. Do tell... He lived in the town in the late 60s. It is also where, to paraphrase the song, he got his first real six string. Though he obviously didn't buy it at the five and dime. |

I'm glad I got to see them with Mick twice before his illness, but I have enjoyed them since as well. Never saw Boz.  All four played Dallas and Houston circa 1999-2000 but I didn't go, for some reason. |

The last time I saw Mick was the last but one Mott reunion and he didn't look great. |
