£50k for a shockingly bad album?? I’ll take a guess that Peggy is the Fairport member, as he seems to have played on 80% of all records ever made!

Could be DM, who has probably played on the 20% Peggy hasn't appeared on as well as most of those he did! As for the album, could it be the one by Brian Maxine? But I think he was backed by most (all?) of Fairport at the time?

Actually, yes... I don't think it's bad. The price is just....odd.

Don't make the mistake of thinking because someone is asking something, that is what it is worth. It isn't. It's only worth what it sells for.

It's as if someone is plucking daft prices out of the air with no sensible attachment to reality. That never happens on the internet does it?

Yes indeed....but if the item in question is Jethro Tull's Rock Island, who the hell would pay that much ? There's a signed one going for wayyyyyy less than that.
It's Jethro Tull's Rock Island, by the way.
Unless it's the press releases that bump the value up that much, I'm stumped.

You can get a used copy on CD for £3 from Amazon, which still seems overpriced.

I like Rock Island! Strange Avenues, the title track and The Whalers Due are great songs (although the less said about Kissing Willy the better)...

If nothing else, it makes expressing one's opinion of that last song fraught with danger... 'I love Kissing Willy ! It's great !' or 'Kissing Willy' was the worst four minutes of my life..etc. I think it's an OK album. Not the greatest Tull, but perfectly fine.

I don’t think it’s that bad either especially as I bought a vinyl copy when it first came out

Indeed - & 4 stars, no less, from Q. Now if you'd been talking about Under Wraps, that's the worst LP (ie by anyone) - in my collection, at least!

I like the song (both versions), but (personally) I think the album's poor.
