If only Colin had agreed to front the band as he should have when Andy packed in touring Great band, looking forward to catching them at the 100 Club on Monday 15th April. This'll be the 4th time I've seen them, but the 1st time in their 3 piece incarnation with Steve Hampton on lead vocals and guitar, and the 1st time with their new bassist Terry Lines (i.e. there'll be 2 Terrys in the band )

If only Colin had agreed to front the band as he should have when Andy packed in touring The Colin and TC band (TC&I) who played a number of gigs in Swindon in 2018 were responsible for one of the finest gigs I've ever seen.

I also count myself lucky to have caught one of the TC&I gigs at the (tiny) Arts Centre. I don't think I have experienced anticipation quite like that at any show before or since! Truly wonderful stuff! My only regret was not buying the live CD "Naked Flames" which seemed to sell out almost instantly on release, to then disappear without trace!

Just bought a ticket for the Oysterband in Chester on Guy Fawkes night. Not seen them for donkey's years but should be fun...

Jah Wobble & band playing "Metal Box In Dub" at Bristol Market Exchange Thurs 16th May. Late finish, apparently, so might be an overnight stay.

Feast Of Fiddles in Masham, on Saturday.
First time I'll have seen them since my Nettlebed days, in the Nineties. Really looking forward to it.

Saw them on Tuesday in Worcester. Slightly refreshed line-up as Peter and Chris are taking a break, but you won't be disappointed..... DM alone is worth the price of the ticket.......

Always a shame to miss out on performers of the calibre of Peter & Chris but I thought the touring line-up looked excellent, regardless. Nice to have it confirmed though!

I've never understood how it could be economic for FoF to exist. The audiences they can attract, and the calibre and number of band members must mean they virtually do it for love...

The Professionals tonight in Leeds, followed by Feast of Fiddles on Sunday in Settle. Email received from the venue for FoF states :
Hi everyone, Just letting you know that downstairs for this event will be cabaret style, which gives everyone much more room. Being totally honest, this is because we haven't sold quite as many as we could have (Sunday/end of Easter hols/back to school effect) so we are able to spread out a bit , which is much better for all !
Mmmmmmm.

Don't tell my granddaughter, because it's an 11th birthday surprise, but Friday night, Laufey at Bass Concert Hall!
This is a young, beautiful and talented Icelandic jazz/pop artist of whom I knew nothing until my granddaughter breathlessly informed me she was coming to Austin. I dutifully fired up the interwebs and tried to secure tickets on the first sale day, but it was impossible. Apparently, there's a lot of buzz about this lady, including a recent Grammy award. So I paid Stubhub double face value for the privilege of escorting my little girl to her first concert in six days. I can't wait to find out what the *kids* are listening to these days.

That will be a great experience to share, well worth the cost. Look forward to your review .

I saw them in Manchester on wednesday, Simon Swarbrick and Marion Fleetwood are in the band with the regulars, to absolutely no loss of quality and as Steve-n said DM is utterly magnificent, as ever.

We didn't get Simon Swarbrick in Masham on Saturday. He must have been on Merry Hell duty. His stand-in was called (I think) Chris Jolly. New name on me but he was excellent, as was the evening in general. The band played for two & a half hours and the time went by in a flash. Always a sure sign of great show.

Merry Hell gigs tend to be weekends unless its near to home. Simon will be a busy chap.

I believe Simon S was with Merry Hell at Launceston last night. Unfortunately we had family here for Mrs Will's birthday, so I couldn't make it. This is the new folk club whose launch was announced from main stage at Cropredy last year. Swarb's widow, Jill, lives locally and is a strong supporter.
