Some seriously interesting 2023 tours:

Alison Russell (playing at Black Deer Fest, June 16th - hopefully elsewhere too)

Eric Bibb at De La Warr Pavilion, Bexhill-On-Sea, May 9th and presumably more to come

Show of Hands doing a tour with Michael Wood(!) on "Songs from the English Radical tradition", dates TBC

Bob Fox / Jez Lowe / Julie Matthews "In The Footsteps Of Ewan McColl" in May see https://www.bobfoxmusic.com/

Not a gig, but the Willy Russell (I don't know, will he?) musical Blood Brothers tonight at the Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff Bay. Got my hankies ready.... Roll Eyes

This was booked well before we realised that there's a certain footie match on tonight, so we're going to try and stay away from the score and watch it when we get home. I can predict the outcome tho....  Sad

John McLaughlin, with the latest (re-)incarnation of Shakti have stared releasing dates for concerts in 2023 - nothing in the UK as yet.  I shall be keeping an eye on their website...

Not quite sure where I found these now, but the SoH and Michael Wood dates are:

I saw those dates on the latest SoH email newsletter along with news of a gig they're doing at the Royal Albert Hall on the 10th of April with guests Track Dogs. At the end it says -

"And finally, we will be taking a break in 2023 and there will be no Abbotsbury, but we look forward to returning to the beautiful sub-tropical gardens in 2024."

Don't know if that means a break from other live dates but I see they are joining RT on his Rhine River Cruise next June.

I'm not big on musicals but that is a good one. Have you seen it before?

We saw it many years ago. It's very good.

From the same author that brought you "Educating Rita".

It’s our 4th time. It was fabulous! My eyes started welling up about 3 minutes in…  Roll Eyes

It was the opening night but I was delighted to see the theatre packed. Great too see people out and about enjoying live music & theatre again 😀

I think "upcoming" can now mean next year  Wink ...   Trad Arrr at Wavendon Stables, Milton Keynes, on 4 March.  When I booked yesterday very few tickets had been sold, so, if you can, please do get booking ... by all accounts it will be well worth it. I'd hate to miss it due to insufficient tickets having been sold, having missed out on last year's attempt to see them due to the band catching covid.

Talking of TRADarrr, Marion has confirmed that pre-Cropredy Wednesday night is TRADarrr night once more. The venue is confirmed as the Brasenose.

Great event and really nice venue, I worked there as a Gardener in the late 1980's and it was very well organised, and a great atmosphere despite the fact it absolutely pissed it down. I think they get a full set of Lakeman's by getting Seth this year, and probably all of Equation.

Thanks, Brendan....we're very tempted although I'm always surprised to remember how far the South Lakes are from the North!  Gets expensive if we have to factor accommodation in...

Saw Doctors at the Manchester Apollo (or whatever it's called these days) tonight.
Six years since the last time they toured and that was after a 5 year break
Just hope I don't regret getting standing tickets and steer clear of black eyes etc this time Shocked

I have just booked for myself, Nikki and my parents, so they must have enjoyed it last year too.
