Was just about to book tickets to see Kate Rusby in Ilfracombe at the end of the month, when I realised it has disappeared off her webiste and the theatre's. I emailed the theatre and they confirmed it had been cancelled but gave no reason.

She is also playing Exeter, but in a small theatre which has been sold out for a while already.

By happy coincidence I’me going to see Kate Rusby tonight!

Supposed to be Ian McNabb tonight, but no car due to hitting a deer on Wednesday night.  Courtesy car arriving tomorrow, so off to Ian Prowse in Liverpool then.

I think a few people on this board used to go to The Ram Club (in Claygate/East Mosely), which has sadly closed its doors. One old Rammer, however, is staging a monthly Tuesday Night  folk concert at the Corner House Community Arts Centre in Surbiton

Listings are at https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/FolkthecornerHOUSE

I'll certainly go & see Granny's Attic & Jacob & Drinkwater there.

Anyone in the Oxford area who fancies seeing Curse of Lono at the Jericho tonight, let me know. I've got two tickets free to a good home.

Also seeing Iona Lane this weekend, tomorrow in Coventry as part of the Campfire Club alongside Boo Hewerdine. Should be interesting, around a campfire in an allotment.

A bit annoyed that I'm going to miss them playing just up the road in Great Torrington on Saturday, as we are away for the weekend!  Need to encourage acts to come and play there as it's our closest little theatre.

Wonderful venue, we're down every November for Magenta's annual bash.

I enjoyed Iona. Some good playing, decent songs and a strong stage presence.. A little one-paced, maybe, but it was a nice groove so I didn't mind that too much.

Never seen Boo. I need to remedy that at some point.

I'm off up to Edinburgh next week to see my mum so googled a few venues and found that UB40 are playing at the Usher Hall. So I've got a seat at the back of the circle. And I'm staying within walking distance of the venue, which is nice.  Smiley

Looks like it's the Robin Campbell line-up with three other founder members - Jimmy Brown, Earl Falconer and Norman Hassan.

The Eagles - Hotel California and the rest, tomorrow night at the brand-spanking-new Moody Center in Austin!

The Eagles is now a wholly owned subsidiary of Don Henley, who used to play the drums. We also get prodigiously talented Vince Gill (in lieu of Bernie Leadon, Don Felder, and the late Glenn Frey), plus Joe Walsh, Timothy B. Schmit, and a host of supporting musicians.

I can't imagine The Eagles will fly indefinitely, so I look forward to this probably final nostalgia trip. Having said that, this machine prints so much money that it may continue beyond the horizon. I hope the ersatz Foreigner and The Guess Who are not templates for a future "Eagles"...
