At a recent Promises Auction MrsB paid for me to have a lesson on a hurdy-gurdy. I've had a couple of email from the guy and it sounds like he's struggling to find suitable tunes for me to play. I've told him I'm into folk-rock and he's suggested we could try Lyke-Wake Dirge by Pentangle. I don't know it that well and to be honest I'll be happy just to have a go on the instrument.

But I thought I'd ask on here for any suggestions of easy-to-play tunes on a hurdy gurdy. The lesson is tomorrow afternoon btw.

Edit: I've just thought that Nottamun Town could be a fairly easy one to play.

Unfortunately it was more of a lecture than a lesson as Paul insisted on telling me in great detail about the history and differences of the three instruments he owns so I only managed a couple of gos at playing Frere Jacque. He also told me about all the festivals he and his friend Sian go to in France every summer. I think I'll be sticking to the guitar.

This is one of the bands he plays in http://www.sianphillipsmusic.co.uk/bands/boom-bike-bourree/
