This from Sid Griffin's website -- but I'm a HUUUGE fan of Peter case and I highly recommend you going to see him if you can.

On Tour Now: Sid Griffin & Peter Case

Two key founders of Americana, Peter Case & Sid Griffin, hit the road for nine UK shows in a row starting May 15 in northeast London and ending May 23 in southeast London after a swing around the country including four gigs in bonnie Scotland.

Peter Case was in The Nerves, the very first truly indie USA rock band to make any impact back in the 1970s, then led the mighty Plimsouls, an L.A. power pop band who combined melody with 1960s R&B to become, in Sid Griffin’s words, “the single greatest live act I have ever seen in my life…period…”.

On his first solo album in 1986 Peter Case turned roving troubadour on a platter produced by T-Bone Burnett and which featured Roger McGuinn and Van Dyke Parks. That album made The New York Times top ten “Best Of” list at year’s end and Peter continued his solo career recording for Geffen, Vanguard, Yep Roc, and Omnivore with great success and much acclaim. See petercase.com for more Peter info.

As for Sid Griffin you already know the story. With The Long Ryders April dates barely completed and with four summer Long Ryders dates planned he is a busy boy but no way could he turn down a chance to open the show for his compadre of forty years (!), the legendary Peter Case. So get to the gig early as Sid opens the proceedings each night.

I’ve already booked to see this at the Exchange (a new venue for me).  Really looking forward to it.
