St Agnes FountainÖ Ashbourne, 2nd December 2019

We had a long, slow, busy journey of 2.5 hours from home, eventually arriving just 10 minutes before the gig started. Trying to find the Leisure Centre car park took ages, but it enabled us to see all the brilliant Christmas lights of the lovely little market town.  I donít think I had ever been into a Methodist church before, but it was a lovely setting, and with tea, coffee and mince pies during the interval it was perfect (though cool).
There was a bit of a gap after the bloke doing the announcements hadnít told the band it was time, so we were treated to extra music for a few minutes. Then the evening began, and we had two hours or so of stunningly fabulous Aggie music, lots of old songs, lots of new songs, great Cornish tunes, Sheffield carols, individual monologues by each, and lots of lovely banter.  This year their annual charity raffle is for music therapy for seriously ill childrenÖ I hope they will do very well for this cause.
For 19 Christmases now the Aggies have been touring, bringing us huge comfort and joy, and this year the tour looks to be even more welcome for obvious reasons. It was good to chat briefly with some of the band and to see the church was full though not packed out.  I only knew one person there as we were so far from home and was told that many of the audience were locals, and had never seen the band before, but everyone enjoyed it and we all went home feeling a little more Christmassy.
Thank you, St Agnes Fountain, have a great tourÖ see you at the end!

Seeing them tonight for only the second time. They don't do Wales very often unfortunately. The last time I saw them was 2008, the year they released 'Soal Cake', which is still my favourite of their albums. Really looking forward to it.

Yes - if we can do it for Gigspanner,  we can do it for the Aggies!
They were wondeful, I loved the stage dressing - very colourful - and their music really made me feel as though Christmas is coming. I now have time to saviour it before it flies off into 2020.
