Had a few Black Friday emails from that fine establishment Badlands Records. Nothing I really wanted to buy, but there was a Magma live in London 74 LP. LP that looked interesting.  I searched around for a CD release but found a download at chez Bezos for, erm, £1.98 - - - had to be bought.

Macca Lyrics is £37.50 today (Thurs 30th) only in Waterstones. Mind you, its the same price on Am*z*n at the moment...

2 bargains for me: Ric Sanders' "Whenever" CD for £2.50 and k.d. lang's "recollection" 2CD set for £1.

Michael Nesmith Magnetic South and Loose Salute for £3.00. Listening now and liking the overall feel, especially the voice. Not sure how essential these albums are but it's satisfying my curiosity to finally hear them after all these years.

Thanks Jules, I'll give them several more listens and get to know them more. Loose Salute has made more impact on me so far.

Funnily enough that's the one out of the three First National Band albums that I consider the least essential, but it's all about personal taste. I very much recommend that you hunt down a copy of the third record, Nevada Fighter, if and when you decide you want more.

I thought this was quite a bargain too - 6 albums and a mini-album for under £20.  If you want to catch up on late period Rush, go for it!

I've not heard a note of any of that stuff (and I love early Rush).  Should I?
