Nick Cave : Idiot Prayer
One man, one piano and, for me, the best album of the year.

The Delicate Sound of Thunder (Reissue) - Pink Floyd. This was the only post Dark Side album of theirs that I did not have.
Wreckless Abandon - The Dirty Knobs. Debut album my the "new" band of Mike Campbell from Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers. Slightly unnecessarily spread across two vinyl discs but a lovely surprise to see that Klaus Voorman designed the sleeve.

Fairport Live At The BBC boxset - a positive test means time to binge in isolation , with nobody to say "turn that down" Where did they find all this stuff , a dusty box in a vault ,how lucky was that Even the off air stuff , sounds just as it would have done on an MW radio in the late 60's Love the rowdy version of MOTL on disc 4 Huge thanks and much respect because this was clearly not a cut and paste easy money compilation , a labour of true love

The Who - Live at the Isle of Wight Festival 1970.
I watched their performance of Tommy filmed at the Albert Hall in 2017 that was on the other night. Can't beat the original rhythm section of Entwistle and Moon.

My gob has officially been smacked....my journey to Chester and back this weekend was accompanied by the Saucerful of Secrets live album
...
It is utterly brilliant. Most of that material has never been played live better (certainly by the Floyd), and it really works as a cohesive body of work.
I absolutely agree. I really enjoyed seeing that set - a group of guys having fun and deservedly owning a catalogue of great rock songs - and was really pleased to see it appear as an album. Meanwhile I'm listening to my son playing the drum part for Here Comes The Sun, one of his Grade 5 pieces. Sounds simple, but its a deceptively difficult piece with a lot of time signature changes. He's almost nailed it Cheers Nick

I was singing the praises of Ringo's drum part for this song on Twitter just yesterday. Jules

It is different but I'm not sure I can explain how. There is a slightly Stonesy vibe about some of it. There are a couple of songs you could imagine being sung by Tom though. I need to listen to it some more.

A new vinyl edition of Emmylou Harris : Wrecking Ball (Nonesuch)
Mastered rather quiet so you have to crank it, but I still love the album.
