Just seen that Ewan McLennan has announced that after his Spring dates http://www.ewanmclennan.co.uk/gigs/ for details, he'll not be touring again for the foreseeable future.

I was just listening to his Stories Still Untold album the other day, which is very good.  Sad to say, I've never seen him live, and I guess am unlikely to now (for some time, at least).

he Final Tour

Well, I'll cut straight to my big news....

After much pondering I've decided that my forthcoming gigs in February and March will be my last for the foreseeable future. This is something I've been mulling over for some time and I've decided that fatherhood (yes, I became a father last Autumn!), political/environmental campaigning and a return to studying are going to be my focus for the coming time (though of course I'll never stop playing music & writing and singing songs).

I've had a brilliant almost-ten years of gigging. It's taken me to just about every corner of Britain, and beyond. I've had the privilege of meeting so many good & interesting people along the way – and I've been showed kindness wherever I've gone.

I've also had the real privilege of performing alongside some of my heroes, some of the people who have inspired me most in my adult life: Martin Simpson, George Monbiot, Roy Bailey, Dick Gaughan to name a few. I'm very grateful to have had these opportunities.

I'll be playing some more gigs in February and March, including trips to Kendal, Durham, Glasgow, London and beyond. And there's a couple of new and topical songs I'll be singing as well as lots of the old favourites (well, mine at least). So make it along to one of the dates if you can and get your fill before the show comes off the road.

So I bow out, at least for now, in very good spirits, with very fond memories of these past few years, but also with great excitement for what life will hold next for me. Thanks again for all your support and hope to see you soon, somewhere or other.

All the best

Ewan

Stories Still Untold is a really good album. I've also got the one he recorded with George Monbiot but haven't played it that much. I see he's playing in Staveley near Kendal on the 16th but sadly that clashes with Lau's gig in Lancaster. But he's playing in Preston on the 20th so that's a possibility.
